Environmental Commitment

Tentickle hates needless waste, and is on a never-ending mission to reduce environmental impact where possible.

Your toys are packaged in sealed biodegradable bags. Although some people understandably appreciate pretty and well-designed packaging, Tentickle prefers to reduce landfill while saving on unnecessary product overheads which are passed onto the customer. After all, the toy is the star of the show! Items are shipped in a recycled cardboard box with recycled biodegradable paper padding, or upcycled packaging from previous deliveries.

Tentickle donates a small portion from each order total towards ensuring customer deliveries are carbon neutral, at no extra cost to the customer. Keep an eye out for the Shopify Planet banner at checkout.

One of the reason Tentickle chooses platinum cure silicone is that it is durable and designed to last many years with a bit of TLC (see FAQs for aftercare advice). This is purchased from a UK supplier that obtains their products in large shipments from the US, which reduces the carbon footprint compared to ordering smaller quantities of silicone directly from overseas.

Small amounts of leftover silicone from each pour are turned into adorable mini "squishies", which are lovingly passed onto customers as cute freebies!

Tools and items used for the business are sourced as close to home as possible, and in some cases are sourced second-hand or intercepted before heading to landfill. Tentickle is a big fan of online marketplaces and upcycling sites, and strongly believes that one person's trash is another person's treasure!

Items that are typically disposable, such as mixing cups/sticks and gloves, have been replaced with either reusable items or high quality disposables which can be reused a number of times. But don't worry: Fran never compromises on clean hygienic practices!

Toys are created in a cosy home-based workshop, avoiding the carbon footprint caused by commuting. By dispatching customer orders weekly, excessive trips to the Post Office are avoided, giving Fran more time to pour your toys and dream up weird new ideas!
